NEW YORK — A New York bookstore that specializes in selling vintage books will offer all readers a discount of 10 percent.
The Book of Books in New York, which has more than 1,500 titles, launched its discount program on Sunday and will also sell books by authors such as J.K. Rowling and Stephen King.
While the program is not available online, the bookstore said on Twitter it will be available on its app, which will also be available in stores.
A full discount will be applied for all books purchased, including first-run books, pre-orders and bundles, according to the website.
Some titles are discounted in other ways.
Among them are a book about a child born with autism and a collection of stories about people who have been shot and killed by police.
The discounts will also apply to books by other authors.
The discount program is the first of its kind in the United States, and the first time a New York bookshop has offered discounts for all users.
Booksellers across the country, including Borders, Borders Books, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Barnes and Noble, and online booksellers, are offering discounts on books that are available for free to all users in their stores, on the Amazon Kindle app or on the Google Play app.
Last week, a group of retailers and publishers including Apple, Barnes&Nobles, Barnes, New York Times, and Amazon announced plans to make free e-books available for download on the iTunes App Store, and to allow people to buy and download them directly from the store, among other things.
